Yep, that's me. I'll be in Salt Lake in a couple of weeks, sans children, and I'm looking for some recommendations.
1. My bra store closed. I am in need. Is there a good one there? (And by a good one, I do not mean Victoria's Secret. Nor do I mean anything "adult". I need useful, practical bras for the . . . shall we say, buxom consumer.)
2. Where should we eat? (Warning: admitted food snob. Not even trying to recover.)
3. Should you happen to be in the area of where I will be enjoying my solitary meal on Friday in a few weeks, I would not mind sharing my table with you. (Purposefully cryptic. You understand. Wouldn't want my thousands of Utahn stalkers to go on high alert.) E-mail me if you're interested.
My new favorite place for brunch is The Wild Grape, downtown.
ReplyDeleteI'm a big fan of Kohls for bras, actually.
Cita Bella, mmmm gelato
ReplyDeleteI want to know where & when--my kids & I leave for Utah on the 11th!
ReplyDeleteWell, if you were coming to St. George, I'm sure I'd be able to advise and/or have lunch with you. But Salt Lake is a different story.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if this will work for a food snob, but every time I go to utah, I make sure I go to Costa Vida. Think Chipolte, only insanely better.
ReplyDeleteI'm afraid I won't be much help to you here, most of the restaurants I go to involve a drive through window.
ReplyDeleteI would LOVE to have lunch with you...
ReplyDeleteOh wait. I'll be back in North Carolina hanging out with your children. So, um, have fun. And eat something good so you can tell me all about it.
Zupas is good. Kind of a casual bistro.
ReplyDeleteIf anyone says to go eat at the place with cliff divers - know that they are not a fried. While It may be interesting to squint into the darkness and try to see the loin clad divers jump from very high rocks into the water below, it is only a diversion so you won't think about how very very bad the food is!
ReplyDeleteI can't really help you out in the bra department. Sorry. I don't know where you're going, but downtown SLC has a breakfast place called Oasis Cafe. It's yummy. Kazzy recommended Zupas, it's my favorite lunch date place. Yummy soup, salad, and sandwiches, not to mention their chocolate dipped strawberries! And abstowe is talking about the Mayan. It is DISGUSTING. Rodizio Grill is a really yummy Brazilian grill also downtown SLC. How long are you in town for? I'd love to show off my cute 3 year old to you!
ReplyDeleteWhat are you talking solitary--I expect to be able to see you. I take it you aren't bringing your kids? We are trying to decide. Either way we need to get together at a park or something so we can have plenty of time to catch up with everyone!
ReplyDeleteYou go to Utah for a comfy bra???????
ReplyDeleteWow!
I'm impressed, but then, I don't really have the "girls" that warrant such devotion.
Spaghetti Factory EVERY. SINGLE. TIME!
Oh, and have a blast!
ReplyDeleteAs one busty momma to another, I strongly recommend Lace by Louise. They are excellent at bra fittings and have a huge range of sizes and styles while also being discreet and tasteful. It was the only place I bought bras when I lived in Utah. =)
ReplyDeleteHave a great trip and I can't wait to hear about your dining adventures.
ReplyDeleteI'm a long-time lurker who happens to live in SLC. I'm no help on the bra store but I do love to eat! Here are a couple of places downtown - Red Rock, Gormandise (especially if you love a good pastry), Tin Angel & Robin's Nest. If you want a REALLY, TRULY authentic Belgian waffle (this place is owned by a Beligan man & he imports all his ingredients) Bruges Waffles & Frites (the frites & dipping sauces are delicious too!) on 336 West 300 South (Broadway). They are AMAZING! Hope you have fun - and some great food!
ReplyDeleteHope you had a wonderful trip! I was in Seattle the same weekend, and had a great time. Beautiful weather, no kids - and I ate junk food for three straight days!!
ReplyDeleteBlue Lemon Bistro on South Temple across from Temple square. Delicious! http://www.bluelemon.com/menu/sides-and-starters
ReplyDeleteOh and I hear Chez Popham a little farther south serves up some pretty amazing food too. ;)
Girlfriend, if we don't sit down for one last meal together before I move away from Utah I just might die. Also there's a great bra place in Bountiful called (I think) Sally's.
